Good Neighbor Days 2018-19
A group of dedicated volunteers works hard to ensure that Howard Lake’s Good Neighbor Days festival is full of fun for all ages. The event takes place annually.
Good Neighbor Days 2019 will take place Thursday, June 20 to Sunday, June 23.
In 2018, Good Neighbor Days took place in downtown Howard Lake.
Thursday’s events kicked off with a Queen’s Tea Party at the Good Samaritan Society, ice cream treats served at Citizen’s Alliance Bank, a wine-tasting and craft beer-tasting, and a 40th Good Neighbor Days Royalty celebration with a BBQ dinner for all to enjoy in downtown Howard Lake. The special event included a ventriloquist, cake-cutting, a kids art contest, and a grand prize giveaway.
Friday’s events included live music, fireworks, sno-cones, a bounce house, a dunk tank staffed by local “celebrities,” a kiddie parade, archery, kids craft projects, and PeeWee Reese and Orphans baseball games. (In the event of rain, fireworks are moved to Saturday.)
Saturday continued with a fishing contest at Lions Park, the kids carnival, a car show, live music, a 5k run, a volleyball tournament, a Friends of the Library sale, the annual One-Block Run, a farmers market and craft sale, a BBQ contest, a bean bag tournament, turtle races, bingo, a pork chop dinner, the Good Neighbor Days awards presentation, and much more.
Sunday was all about the Grande Day Parade, a meet-and-greet of characters for children, a kids pedal tractor pull, a silent auction, and the queen coronation with Good Neighbor Days button raffle drawings.
Each year includes kids activities, live music, beverages for adults, and food for all.
